Beyond Horse Massage Weekend Seminar
A Masterson Method® Weekend Course is the next practical step after reading and/or viewing the Beyond Horse Massage Book or video. It is also the first step to becoming a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner.
In this hands-on course, you’ll learn how to recognize and use the visual responses of the horse to your touch to find and release accumulated stress in key junctions of the body that most affect performance. Horses will be provided at the course, however you’ll be able to apply all that you’ve learned to your own horse afterwards! These techniques have been successfully taught to thousands of owners, therapists, and trainers worldwide, enabling them to open new levels of communication and relationship with their horses.
Learn The Masterson Method® equine bodywork fundamentals in this two day course with hands-on practice with a group of students.
With a very light touch you can follow the responses of the horse to find where they might be holding tension in their bodies. Once you learn how to read those responses, you develop trust and they will let down their guard and display bigger releases like licking, chewing, stretching and yawning. Relaxation is an important part of a horse’s routine and an exquisite experience when we humans share that with them.
Now offering online Zoom courses for dogs called Read and Release, based on the book, Beyond Dog Massage. This course consists of four consecutive weeks of training with your dog in the comfort of your own home.
You will learn how to recognize and use the visual responses of the dog to your touch to find and release tension. Learning the techniques taught in the Read and Release course will improve your dog’s movement, comfort, and longevity while opening exciting new doors to better communication and a more meaningful relationship.
Courses are added to our schedule throughout the year. If you find a course that works for you and has openings, we recommend registering as soon as possible. Our courses fill quickly. If a course is FULL, email dog@mastersonmethod.com to be added to a course waitlist.
As an equine bodywork coach, I work with people who have studied or attended a course with The Masterson Method®. We spend two hours with multiple horses to strengthen your abilities and improve your mastery of equine bodywork. We work on any aspect of bodywork including theory, anatomy, hand placement and the thrill of seeing a horse melt into relaxation with the touch of your hand.
$175.00 for 2 hours
Your horse and I work together to relieve tension throughout their whole body. The session typically lasts for 1-1/2 hours and we work from head to tail asking for greater range of motion and deep muscle and tissue relaxation. I will talk my way through the junctions of your horse and how to improve their fluidity of movement.
Please let me know the age, breed short history of your horse. Any injuries or medical issues I should know about would also be appreciated.
$150.00 1-½ hours (travel fees will apply after 40 miles)
Would you like to spend time with a horse to practice the foundational elements of the Masterson Method® equine bodywork techniques? Spend three hours working with horses, reading their responses and help them relieve tension in the whole body. You don’t need prior horse experience to work with horses in this session. Many people come away from this experience with a renewed sense of calmness and wholeness.
Learning how and where a horse might be holding tension allows us to let go of tension that we might be holding. It only works when you are calm and present and tuned into the horses responses. These events are listed on the Join Up page or contact me directly at amelianalli.equinebodywork@gmail.com.
$75.00 per person for 3 hours of instruction.
If you are too far to travel or would like some one-on-one coaching, we can schedule a video call, phone or with Zoom.
Sometimes you just need a little help getting clarity about ways you can help your horse and improve your techniques.
$60.00 per hour
Compass Conversations Podcast
Kerri Lake, who wrote the book, Listen Like a Horse, has created a podcast series that is uniquely different from anything you have heard before.
Each episode includes 6 peers who come together to discuss what they are curious about and the topic is chosen live and in the moment. As her website says, it is a conversation “founded in the feeling of camaraderie and presence of non-competitive exploration”.
It takes a shift in perspective to open up in a live conversation without preset conditions and talk from the heart. I am honored to have been included in Episode #11: On Transformation and Evolution.

Equine Assisted Therapy Demonstration
Are you a member of a youth group or Equine Assisted Therapy barn? Learn more about the Masterson Method and how to help the students, volunteers and horses in your organization. Understanding how sensitive horses are and learning about where they might be holding tension will enhance your program and give back to your entire community.
Typically in a demonstration we cover how and where to release tension, a few basic techniques of Masterson Method and individual hands-on practice with a horse. This demonstration is great for groups of 6-8 people and takes about 4 hours.
What is Equine Bodywork?
Horses hold tension throughout their bodies just like we do. Their instinct for self preservation compels them to cover up weaknesses so it’s difficult to know where they might be holding tension. Over time that tension can create restriction in the muscles, joints and fascia and lead to lameness. Equine bodywork is one way to find and release tension in the whole body before it becomes restriction. As a Masterson Method® Certified Practitioner, I use the responses of the horse as a guide to release that tension.
Searching for areas of discomfort requires the bodyworker to be relaxed, loose and present. This is the integrative part of this method. It works best when horse and human work together. If the horse is saying, whoa, too much pressure! I can lighten, soften and adjust how much pressure I am using. You would be surprised to see how just a little pressure can be too much for these overgrown puppies. When paying attention to what the horse is saying, we can work with them to release deeper areas in the body.
